As we continue to grow the farm and serve an expanding customer base in the Greater Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and Bremerton areas, we recognize that there is a limit to what we can do on our land here in Shelton, WA.
But we are extremely passionate about doing everything we can to create a future free of factory farms. As such, we are excited to partner with other local producers who are raising animals on pastures to the highest standards for animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and product quality. Through these partnerships, we aim to continue building awareness and demand for pastured meats produced locally and outside of the industrial system.
If there's one thing all of these producers have in common, it's a level of integrity that is sadly uncommon in our food system today. We're truly blessed to be building the future of our food system with such amazing and dedicated people.
Colvin Ranch is a family owned and operated grass fed cattle ranch located in the Olympia area near the small town of Tenino. The ranch was homesteaded by Ignatius Colvin, who came to Washington on the Oregon Trail in 1851 from Boone County, Missouri, and is one of the oldest ranches in the county still owned by the original family.
Four generations later, the Colvin Ranch family heritage continues through their humane livestock handling, stewardship of the land, and sustainable grazing practices that allow native and endangered plants to flourish alongside their high-quality, all-natural cattle finished on grass.
Why we love them: Through regenerative grazing, Colvin Ranch is stewarding some of the most ecologically vibrant native grasslands in the state. Their work is a shining example of herbivores and prairies thriving together as they historically did long before humans arrived on the continent.
Chehalis Valley Farm is a small farrow-to-finish farm raising heritage pigs in the forests and pastures of Grays Harbor County, Washington.
Why we love them: Pigs are incredibly intelligent animals with a broad emotional range. We need more producers like Chehalis Valley Farm who raise pigs on deep bedding and in natural environments where they can express all of their natural instincts.
Three generations of the Anderson family have worked at MTA Ranch, a family-run cattle operation in Ellensburg, Washington, with a fourth generation eager to join. Mark Anderson, the key figure in the ranch, has had a passion for cattle since his youth, participating in regional 4H and FFA shows. This passion drives their dedication to high-quality purebred Angus cattle and regenerative practices aimed at sustainability and compassion.
Located near the Yakima River, MTA Ranch benefits from lush grasses and open pastures that are perfect for raising cattle. With GAP Step 4 and regenerative certifications, the Andersons prioritize responsible land management and cattle care, fostering a thriving ecosystem where both animals and land flourish, and producing premium beef that is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished.
Why we love them: Visiting MTA Ranch is mesmerizing. Picture hundreds of beautiful Blank Angus cattle calmly grazing on lush, irrigated pastures that stretch as far as the eye can see. It's truly a sight to behold, and those beautiful sights are indicative of some of the highest-quality beef produced anywhere in the world.
Riverbird Farm is a small first-generation farm specializing in pastured meat chickens. Their practices are guided by principles of regenerative farming and are grounded in deep respect for the animals they raise, the land they steward, and the community they serve.
Why we love them: Aside from being some of the nicest folks we've ever met, this tight-knit group of young farmers are endlessly hard-working and values-driven. They're deeply passionate about raising animals with integrity, creating a sustainable and just food system, and leaving the world better than they found it.
Harbor Fish Co. is anchored in the maritime towns of Gig Harbor, WA and Juneau, AK. Each May, Fisherman Zach heads north where he sustainably harvests salmon from the pristine waters of Lynn Canal outside of Juneau. Why we love them: Thanks to their efforts, we're able to conveniently enjoy the finest Alaskan salmon year-round here in our home state. Thanks Alex and Zach!
